Adams Accounting is a privately owned accounting practise based in Maffra, regional Victoria.
Established in 1984 the principal business owner Gerald Adams has been practising for over 30 years in the Gippsland region accumulating immense local knowledge and expertise.

Born and raised in Yackandandah VIC, a long time ago. Moved to Albury NSW and worked for Price Waterhouse Chartered Accountants for seven years whilst completing a Batchelor of Business Degree at Charles Sturt University (part time) before completing the entry year to become a Chartered Accountant.
In 1984 Gerald moved to Maffra to take up position as Manager of the former business Wallace Wilson – Chartered Accountant. Gerald has been in public practice in Maffra since that move.
Focussed on family owned and operated businesses Gerald has extensive experience in dealing with a wide variety of clients in differing industries. Gerald enjoys giving back to the local community by being involved in community organisations.
As a devoted Richmond Tigers fan Gerald has matured patience, but was around during the seventies and eighties when the Tigers ruled (our time will come again). In his spare time Gerald enjoys unwinding by travelling with Carolyn, watching the growing number of grandchildren develop and hitting the little white ball (too many times).
Director
Born and bred in Denison, Brooke studied a Bachelor of Commerce at RMIT University’s Bairnsdale campus.
Whilst completing her studies part time, Brooke started a cadetship with Adams Accounting in 2008 and began full time employment with our firm in 2011. Brooke has also completed her Chartered Accountancy and is working through a Diploma of Financial Planning (Level 1).
Growing up on a dairy farm Brooke has a sound knowledge of the various facets of dairy farming.
In her spare time Brooke enjoys cooking and the recreational activity of shopping for shoes.
Director
David was born and raised in Maffra before moving to Melbourne to complete a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Financial Planning) at La Trobe University.
For 3 years David worked for Blue Rock Chartered Accountants based in Melbourne City before joining Adams Accounting in 2014. Focusing on family owned and operated businesses David has extensive experience in various industries in regards to trust, company & SMSF compliance, business structures, financial analysis & day-to-day business services.
Successfully completing his Chartered Accountancy in 2014 and Diploma of Financial Planning (Level 1) in 2016 David has shown great patience, clearly learnt from being an avid Richmond Tigers fan!
Now back in Melbourne to live with his partner Beth, David works mainly by correspondence. In his spare time David enjoys unwinding by having a barbeque with family and friends, or hitting the sporting fields of football, basketball & golf.
Raised on a farm in Newry, Jane started out as a Sampling Officer for Maffra Herd Improvement for 18 years before switching to accounting. Jane went on to complete an Advanced Diploma of Accounting, followed by a Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting via the University of Southern Queensland.
Jane began her Accounting career in 1999 with Chirnside & Associates, before switching to Adams Accounting in 2000. Between 2005 and 2010, Jane operated her own bookkeeping business, before re-joining Adams Accounting.
In her spare time Jane’s main passion is her involvement as President of Maffra Hockey Club, for which Jane has been involved with since 1981. Jane also enjoys playing squash.
Born in Zimbabwe, Trish moved to Australia many moons ago.
Joining Adams Accounting in September 2002 as our front desk receptionist, Trish has progressed to senior administration officer and taken on the responsibility of running our administration team.
In her spare time Trish enjoys creative craft work and spending time with her family.
Lisa joined the team in January 2010 bringing with her years of experience in the administration field. Working in our administration team, Lisa also relieves in reception and is a qualified relief bank teller with Westpac In-Store.
Lisa started her working life with Esso and offshore contractors as receptionist and was employed by Murray Goulburn Co-op for 10 years with experience ranging from receptionist, document manager co-ordinator to internal auditor.
Lisa was born in Maffra and has continued to enjoy the small town community life only moving away for a short time to Tasmania. She doesn’t have a lot of spare time with 4 children but does enjoy spending time with her family and friends, walking, music and exploring the great outdoors on family trips.
Sheridan was born in Traralgon and raised in Brisbane before returning to Gippsland in 2010.
Sheridan worked in various roles and gained over eleven years of experience in customer service and administration and had also completed a Diploma of Business before joining the Adams Accounting team in January 2015.
As our receptionist, Sheridan is the first friendly face clients see as they walk through the door. She enjoys meeting our clients and assisting them with their needs.
Outside work Sheridan enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading and travelling.
